There are any number of reasons why you might need to convert a video from one format to another. In the case of video podcasting perhaps you need to make your file compatible to work on Apple devices or you need to take your original file created specifically for iTunes and make it more compatible with any type of media player. These are just two of the reasons why a video converter can be an important piece of software in your podcast production tool box.
In many cases, because the web often deals in flash (flv) files, you may need to convert them to another format which works better for your particular needs. In this episode I give you a brief introduction to some of the free, cross platform (Windows and Mac) tools I use for converting video file formats.

Hi Ray. I love using RealPlayer for all my conversions. I used the free version for years but I upgraded to the premium last year so that I can convert any audio or video file and make a DVD from it. Once you have it installed you can hover over any video on YouTube or other video sharing sites and the download option appears. It's pretty sweet.
I haven't used Miro in awhile, so thanks for reminding me about that one too.

You mentioned you created a video podcast with Audacity, I assume you meant audio and when I last tested, RSS Graffiti didn't work for video so I hope you are only posting audio shows.
My only one, major suggestion would be about your feeds. I noticed you submitted your AudioBoo feed and you really want to be submitting a Feedburner feed whenever possible.
In the case of RSS Graffiti it's not too important because if you ever change your feed you can just also make the change in RSS Graffiti for any new feed you might have for the same podcast (i.e. you moved you hosting to another site).
However in the case of something like iTunes, once you submit your feed you are stuck with that feed unless you use Feedburner. So just something I wanted to make sure you were aware of before it was too late.

Ray, I definitely need to add a notation to the video that I meant to say "audio" recording with Audacity. Wow, at least I know you watch the whole vid LOL!!
