The Powerpress plugin for WordPress was updated a few days ago. This plugin does much more than you need it to and can be used in many different ways.
One of it’s most exciting new features is the ability to place an html5 player on your site, essentially making your podcast non-flash or Apple friendly.
I’ve done some initial testing and it seems to work well. I also use this plugin to properly form my enclosures. I don’t recommend using this plugin to perform all the necessary functions of your podcast but if you do, it’s very well supported and you shouldn’t be left high and dry as was the case with people who used PodPress.
You should, at the very least, install it and take a look at the different options it offers. It can be confusing however and if you have any questions about how I set it up please feel free to ask in the comments. I’ve attached images that show my current settings for the Powerpress plugin. Your’s will likely be different but this gives you some idea about how I’m using the plugin for The Podcasters Studio Podcast. Anything you do not see (e.g. parts of a page, other tabs) in these images is because I either don’t use them and/or I have left the default settings in place.
I’ve been looking into options for quite awhile on ways to make my podcast html5 compatible and this is one of the better ways I’ve come across to date.
Let me know what you think. Have you tried it? Are you already using it?
